The Challenge

Waka Welding Ltd contacted TMD to help commercialise a Rope Winch that they had developed. The winch is powered by two back to back Final Drives, in a drum assembly.

Waka Welding prototyped the winch with sold used finaldrives and TMD was able to offer a quality current production finaldrive, meeting their manufacturing demands and take the product to market.

Solution

TMD where able to specify and supply hard wearing customised Final Drives, matching the current housing and bolt patterns exactly elimitating the need for any re-work of the prototype = speed to market. Supplied with an industry leading 3 year warranty.

The resulting product is a 1/8 wire rope winch felling machine for assisted felling on very steep wet soils. This increases safety and reduces need for tracking and ground compaction and increases production on steep ground.
